What was so secret about Naval Airfield Valkenburg that it had been wiped off the map for years as if it didn’t exist? In the five-part documentary series ‘Het Verdwenen Vliegveld’, the makers look for the answer to this question.
Few people know what role the airport closed in 2006 played during the Cold War. ‘The Disappeared Airport’ tells that unknown story, by taking former naval personnel back to the places where they worked and looking for traces of the Cold War with them. The documentary was made for TV West and can be seen on Omroep Max in August. TV West is going to repeat the series.
